My week, so far has been very busy. The Sno County Sparkers team had our monthly Hike to the Big 4 Ice Caves, 12 adults, 1 young boy and a baby, + 7 dogs. The hike was just about what I remember, mostly up hill for 1 1/2 miles and it was hot and muggy but once you got near the top the breeze off the ice field is amazingly refreshing. It's very beatuiful up there and although the caves are not visible as yet there were a few small openings to peer into. Want to do it again in late August to see if more is open. Plenty of water and exercise!!!
Sunday was my bil's 60th birthday so I went to Edmonds for dinner, it was cooler there as usual with the sound breeze. It was a lovely evening.
Monday was just too darn hot so the kids and grandkids and I went up to the river to cool off and it did work, water was not as cool as we expected but was in the shade and cooler. We may go again this evening. I got plenty of exercise and water yesterday as well and today. I got up early, did some gardening and discovered a great way to get slugs away from my plants without toxic slug bait. Take small cat food cans, place them partially in the ground around the garden and fill with beer-slugs love beer, they get in the cans and walaa drown! It worked I got rid of at least 10 slugs near my petunias that they were eating the leaves off of. I hope everyone is staying cool and drinking lots of water, this heat is brutal.
