My Biggest Loser Summer Challenge: Do You Really Want To Lose?
Tuesday, July 28, 2009
I am writing this blog for my Cranberry team. The week 8 challenge is to write a blog about my reflections on this summer challenge.
Honestly, I haven't challenged myself enough this summer. I began it, thinking that I would reach my goal weight of 125 lbs. without much trouble at all. This is the eighth week into the 10-week challenge and I have had to drop my expectations.
I just finished writing a blog for my Class of Jan. 26-31 Team, reflecting my 6-months with Sparkpeople. All of this reflecting has shocked me into action. I want to do this, not only for my teams, but also for myself. I can do this if I stay with my plans. I'm not giving up! I want to reach my goal weight more than ever now.
My new goal for the remaining weeks is to drop a half pound per week. My strategy is to walk at least 15 miles per week, strength train twice a week, eat 5 fruits/vegetables a day, and drink 8 cups water each day.
I want to thank my teams here on Sparkpeople. I wouldn't even be trying right now if it weren't for your challenges and encouragements and seeing your successes. We can all be successful.
Here's a message to anyone struggling in the challenge: stand up, dust yourself off, make your own goals for the remainder of this challenge and head for just that. Finish this challenge with a smile on your face, knowing that you have given the last few weeks your best!!!!!! You can do it!
