It's only in my mind

Before my kiddo and even a bit after I regularly exercised; had a gym membership and everything! But let's just say its been awhile (ahem *clears throat* 2 years) since I've been in the swing of regularly doing anything active. The last few days have been AWESOME. My mind had forgotten the joys of working up a good sweat and so I played right into my own headtrip of how exercise is yucky. Luckily my body remembered the joys and I'm on a much more pleasant headtrip.

I'm just returned from my first reintroduction to bike riding. Yeah, last time I rode - picture pigtails and gawky pre-adolescence...that long. I'm going to claim a major victory since I didn't fall down :D

If you knew me, or really spent 5 minutes in my company, you get the picture that I'm a touch on the...well, let's politely call it neurotic...side. Me being me, before I ever got on the bike, I was seeing the handlebars flying off, hitting a parked car and breaking my elbows (yes specifically my elbows) a dog chasing me, hitting a raccoon...the list goes on.. but nope, none of those things happened. It really was so.much.FUN! I was bummed I had to come home (I'm not equipped for night time riding)

I love when I get to replace the crazy with the positive in my mind!

Good job getting on the bike emoticon . It's so much fun. I finally purchased one earlier this summer and have loved it. I haven't ridden in about 20 years, so I was nervous to say the least. It really only took me a few days of riding to get back into the swing of things and figure out how to deal responsibly with traffic. I've been going all over the place and have even entered into some large organized rides.

It's great that after 2 years you're going at it again. I have also found that after along period of time, it hard for me to get back into a regular routine. Keep it up.
