26 days to go until "South Africa's most beautiful road race" - Spar Ladies 10K

Monday, July 27, 2009

This will be my 5th Spar Ladies 10K. (Ho hum....every year I seem to be fatter and slower...)
I plan to be training well over the next 4 weeks, and I intend to enjoy the "race" nevertheless, no matter how slow I am.

I have already entered, and received my race T-shirt (a beautiful turquoise blue this year). (All participants are required to run the race in their official Spar race T-shirts).
In the past one could choose a size from S to XL, but this year the T-shirts are "one size fits all" ha ha - SMALL! (Cost cutting due to the recession I wonder?)
This is extra motivation to lose a few more kilograms before race day: I need to fit into the darn T-shirt!

Hah I don't know why anyone ever thought 'one size fits none' would ever ever work. gah.

good luck and well done for sticking with the race! (my pointy hat off to you. Nothing I would do LOL) emoticon

All the best for your training. I'm sure you'll enjoy the race very much.
I cannot believe that the organisers didn't consider more than one size.

Oh no, how irritating about the T-shirt - I'm sure having it too tiny may risk damage to certain sensitive areas emoticon

Good luck with training and getting into the T-shirt.

I hope things pick up for you. Work is busy for me as people have been laying off staff and outsourcing which is great for me, bad for the poor people made redundant, sigh! Always the way, one person's sorry is another person's joy!

The T-shirt is TINY and I can tell you that most of the women who take part in this event are not TINY (except for the elite runners).
Yes, men (the management of Spar) must be behind this (ha ha)!!!

Sorry but it is a little funny that all the T-shirts are "one size fits all"...
But if you start to think of it... that is the message that is out there "all woman should be the same" ... Like when you go and buy your self a hat... you will find "one size fit's all" in the woman's apartment, but if you go and shop for a man hat, you will find hats in all kind of sizes... that is pretty annoying!

but! It is grate that you have gotten the race stuff, that is such a motivation :)
