I Quit My Job to Lose Weight!

Yes I did. I am an online marketer, meaning I ghostwrite and sell eBooks to people on a wide variety of topics. I have a list of about 6,000 customers and a Twitter following of over 6,000 and I announced to everyone that for the next 30 days - I quit my job!

My job is now to lose weight. I only got about 2-3 hours of sleep last night - went to bed at 6 AM, woke up at 8, and got out of bed at 9 AM. So today sucks. But I did 1 hour on the treadmill at a 2.5 speed - walked 2.5 miles. I was happy with that. I was going to do another hour but I'm too too sleepy to tackle it. And I still have to go to the store today, which my feet are fighting me about.

Anyway, thanks for continuing to check in with me even when I was MIA from here. It helped. Last night, while trying to do Zumba, I just got fed up. My body can't move that speed and so I was like, "You know what? I quit!" Quit trying to squeeze in workouts at 2 AM after working all day. I am my priority, period.

    Wow, you go gf! I checked out the zumba stuff, since you had blogged about it. I would love it, and we do have classes, but I think it's a little pricey for me to go to them. But perhaps sometime in the future, I'll get the dvd set from online. I am proud of you that you're making yourself a priority. That's sometimes the hardest thing to do, but you're doing it!!! Keep us posted!!

    Good for you! You're doing something I'm sure a lot of people wish they could (I know I'd love to be able to do this). You're right to not push yourself too hard on the first day...you don't want to overdo it and then stop right away! You'll start pushing yourself quick enough as you get the hang of regular exercise. Keep us updated on your progress!!

    (Side note: The best advice I ever got is to eat something from 3 food groups within one hour of waking. This sets your metabolism for the day and helps keep you feeling satisfied (if it's healthy somethings). I started doing this in March and my weight loss rate has doubled. Since you mentioned you needed to make sure you eat more, I thought this might come in handy. Ok, done with advice.)

    That's right! We have to make ourselves a priority!!! It's hard, I know..I put it off for over 10 years after I married and had kids. Now it's all me baby! :O) And the kicker is..they completely understand..why didn't I do it sooner? :O) Way to go on a great decision!
