I LOVE SPARKPEOPLE
Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Today I posted the following entry to the Baby Boomers Message Board on AOL, using the same title as I'm using here:
Back in November, Laneita referred me to www.sparkpeople.com. It's a diet program - excuse me - it's a lifestyle change program a lot like weightwatcher, except it's free. Since then, I've lost 44 pounds, and I can't believe the confidence I've gained. I thought I couldn't lose weight in my 60s, but I did it! A few of you have remarked that I'm too meek, and I probably will always have to fight that, just like I'll have to fight my food addiction. But now I know I can do it. I have diabetes, and my blood tests are in the 90s every day now, and my cholestoral and blood pressure are under control. I'm hoping that I may be able to stop taking some of my meds soon. And I'm hoping to see my grandchildren grow up and meet my great-grandchildren, which my mother and grandmother didn't get to do.
Tomorrow ET is going to feature the founder of Sparkpeople and some of the people who have succeeded with this program. I urge you to check it out, and check out Sparkpeople if you need help.
The Bible says "the meek shall inherit the hearth" - so watch out! I'm gonna OWN this planet!!!
