Step Ladder Excitement?

Monday, July 20, 2009

This is kind of a silly blog but today I bought a step ladder with 2 steps on it. I am short and I always struggle to get things down from the top shelf. I also have bad feet and worse knees. There was no way in heck I was ever going to get up on a step ladder before. They weren't sturdy enough and I was too clumsy so this weekend when I wanted to clean out my kitchen I borrowed a step ladder from my parents It worked great for me so I went and bought my very own step stool today. I didn't even have to check the weight limit on it. LOL!

I am so glad you celebrate the small stuff! You are inspiring -- thank you SO much for staying active on SparkPeople so that people who are early in their long journeys (like me) can have folks to look up to!

I love having a step stool, but sometimes I am lazy and boost myself onto the kitchen counter and then climb up to the top shelf! I guess it is good exercise but not as safe as the step stool. Mine was gone for several years after my daughter got married. She kept insisting that her mil gave her hers even though it looked just like mine. Oh well. It was a small price to pay to buy a new one!

I really appreciated your whole story! Keep up the good work!

As I am rather tall, I was always my short grandmother's step ladder...LOL. She would just yell "MB, I need you in the kitchen" and that meant she needed me to reach something on the top shelf for her.

Must have a terrific feeling to just purchase the step stool that you liked and not worried about a weight limit. May we all be so gifted on day! emoticon

We have one of those. They are really handy. And Hooray for not having to check the weight limit but then you have not had to do that for some time now. It is those little habits that we got used to when we weighed more than we should that are sometimes hard to shake. We have to break those negative thoughts!!! They don't fit us anymore. emoticon

emoticon emoticon It is the little things in life that make it fun to live--I understand the ladder even though I am 5'9" I still always need to reach the limb just out of my reach!! emoticon
