For the first time in over a year, I have semi-adequate pain control. The only problem is it's making me sleepy. You think I'd at least be getting good sleep. Unfortunately, I'm only getting 4-5 hours a night. I'm so tired that it's tough to make it through the day. I feel kind of like a slug. I'm not whining; I'm just venting.
A good family friend died of old age this week. She was my father's first & second grade teacher & one of the nicest ladies you could ever meet. We will miss her.
We got back the cremains of our beloved Shadow. The debate is what to do with the box.
Last week was spent busy at work & taking my little sis shopping for stuff for college. I've spent so much & know she is going to need more stuff for her dorm room. She got approved for a loan this week that will cover a large part of her tuition, room & board that wasn't covered by her scholarship, grants, and subsidized & unsubsidized loans. It's amazing how much college costs.
The exciting news for last week: I have a new car. Okay, it's actually an SUV. Mind you I wasn't looking for a car. My dad traded his dying van in for a lease on a 2009 Honda CR-V (which I've been drooling over). He works at a waste water treatment plant and decided he doesn't want to take it to his work. The solution - he traded me for my van. I'll keep making payments on my van and then when it's paid off I can trade mine in or I can take over his lease. I've driven it all weekend & it feels like a new dress shoe. I kind of miss my van it was more like a comfy sneaker. Of coarse, my little sis has offered to trade me old Toyota Camry, I gave her about three years ago. I told her I'd have to pass.
Yesterday morning, I heard a huge crash come from the kitchen. I got up the nerve to check it out & found my cat, Smokey, in the cabinet above the sink. He had knocked out several mugs & glasses to make room for himself. Luckily, he didn't break anything. Having two male cats is as bad as having a toddler around the house. It' always something between the two of them.
Accomplishments/positives:
1. I have semi-adequate pain control
2. I'm drinking at least 64 oz of water a day
3. I'm staying in my calorie range
4. I have a new Honda CR-V
5. I bought a new stability ball (the cats put a few holes in the last one)
Food for thought:
"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results. -Anonymous
