Reaching One Goal & Making Another

Thursday, July 16, 2009

I've posted this on my cohort message board, but I want to blog it so I can find it easier later. Now that I've reached my goal weight, I want to review what this means in numbers.

First, I'm below my goal weight by 1 pound...124! This means I lost 26 pounds, or 17.3% (1/6) of my starting weight.

I went from a "fair" 32.9% Body Composition (a fat vs muscle measurement) to an "average" 26% BC. Much lower than that is considered athletic, and I'm not going to work to go much lower, although I'll definitely keep up the strength-training work.

I've lost a total of 5 1/2" from my waist, 4" from my hips, 1 1/2" around my neck, 3 1/2" around my bust, 3" around my ribs and thighs, and 1 1/2" around my biceps. That's a total of 26" I've lost at 9 points of measurement. I'm pretty excited and proud of myself.

Now if I can just figure out how to measure my progress with Sparking my house, I'll be moving on towards my next goal. I've found that being able to visually track my activities and watch my fairy icon float across the ticker line was motivating to me in sticking with the SP program. Flylady's home management system will work, I know, but _I_ have to work the program. That's where I've fallen down on Flylady before, giving up on the program, not being consistent OR persistent. No excuses now...SP has helped me prove to myself that I can make, work towards and reach goals that require self-discipline and occasional drudgery. Given that the ticker was somehow helpful to me, maybe my computer whiz-kid son can whip something up for me. I'll go ask him right now.
