Secret weapons..the travel edition

Thursday, July 16, 2009

So with only ONE more load of washing to do and my packing (half) done I thought I would share the items I will be taking with me to survive 2 weeks away from home and the reassuring presence of my SP friends.

So I have:
- Swimming goggles
- MP3 player with C25K week 2/3/4 on(I should be on week 3 next week, but this week has been slow)
- BF's heart-rate monitor
- skipping rope
- GL book (has all carbs/cal/fat/protein data I need)
- tape measure as I won;t be getting near a set of scales
- micro-scales for food
- small plastic zip-locks for snacks
- measuring spoons
- print out of SP's portions sizes guidelines
- notebook and pen, complete with expected activities and recommended calorie intake.
- calculator...you did not really expect me to do the calorie sums by hand, did you?

So, having already packed swimsuit and running kit, I feel a little more confident about staying on top of things whilst in the UK.

I found out the menu of the dinner we are attending, and tomato/mozarella and chicken with spinach, I know I will be fine. Dessert is profiteroles, which I don't have great cravings for...so I should be safe on that one too!

Now back to thinking about the food to take on the trip (10 hours of driving and ferry....bleh) and knitting ;-).

You'll be fine Wednesday and Thursday when you're here with me at the Spark Hotel. Now I'm in, I'm in as they say.

I have functioning scales - kitchen and bathroom; a SP hotline [what is the wifi version of that - maybe it's a sparkii?] so you can log on and there will be a fridge full of goodness waiting for you. Not to mention the mini-tramp which will be out and dusted down by next week. Maybe you should stay longer than the scheduled two days

No wii I'm afraid, but maybe just as well as the tv screen is the same size as the laptop

Somehow i suspect we might be walking rather than knitting, but I can't wait to see you emoticon emoticon

Love the photo! Great planning, girlfriend! I've been trying to think how to continue my 100 push up challenge at the campgrounds. I have been hiding away in the bathroom, the floor mat is perfect...

You have really got it down! I'm pre-printing cards for each day where I will write all that I eat and bringing running gear and swim gear, too. Can't wait to hear back from you when I return!

Good luck , May the Force Be With You and have fun jogging, jumping and swimming!

With all this planning I have no doubt that you will not only stay on top of it - you'll top yourself (and I shall have to be envious of you overtaking me by even more grrr;)
    Have a great time. I hope it's a holiday you'r going to.
