The Weekends

The weekends are alway such a minefield for me. I love the fact that I have so many wonderful friends and things to do, but it all seems to come with eating. Take this weekend, I have a high tea full of mini sandwiches and pastries for my friend's bridal shower on Saturday. Then, to top it off, a church luncheon with tons of food on Sunday. I love to eat and I find it hard to stop when there is so much yummy stuff around. I want to try everything. I'm starting to dread the weekends because I do so much better during the week in sticking with my plan and exercising, but it seems to all go out the window during my treck through the weekend minefield.

    I can definitely relate to that. Although we do not have a lot of things to do like you, our entertainment was going out to eat. But, now that is so hard and actually no fun anymore. So, we need to try to find other things to do that don't involve eating out. Dieting is definitely hard work. I guess the best we can do is try to watch the portions and focus on that. That is what I did for the baby shower and also when Grandma took us out. I was able to lose by really watching those portions. So, one little bite of things and then stop is the best way to go. Keep it small, but still get a little taste of the goodies.
