My new best friend !

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

My new best friend is really skinny, and about 8ft tall...well, I guess I mean long really.

Whilst looking for my shoes in the garage I came across a skipping rope that had long been abandoned because it is miles too long for me to use. Oh, but not today...pliers? check! knife to get the handle end off? check!

I had a vague memory about having it long enough that your arms will be perpendicular when both feet are on that's what I went for.

BF finished the putting back together as I could not get the metal ring back on the rope, and I beamed a big smile when he handed it back. I tried it, it perfect!

So, Ropey and me will be sharing the next few weeks at least, at it has to be THE MOST PORTABLE item of fitness equipment.

Turns out, SP has a 10-min workout video and also an article giving you workout plans...once again SP delivers!

I am still pondering over the travel plans..I am starting to get mildly panicky that I will be flying solo for the next 2 weeks...but I will try my best to plan!

Wimpy here...(that's me, remember?) Just be careful to wear really good jump-friendly shoes...that will protect the knees and joints...Also warm up and stretch!

    Have fun jumping! emoticon

That's a great idea! I have a vacation coming up and while I have hopes to do some yoga on the beach when i have it to myself, the only real cardio other than the hiking we'll be doing, which are mostly short hikes to places to wade, would be to run. I'm not a big runner, but I'm still going to try to do it in the morning. But jumprope? Genius! I'll have to pack one!

Was your boyfriend disappointed when you said we can have all sorts of fun with this rope - and then you started skipping?
