My First Post

I just joined SparkPeople today and this is my first Blog Entry.

This is my last day of vacation and it has been very wet out, so I've allowed myself lots of time to read and to surf the net. I thought it would be a good time to get involved in SparkPeople.

I've been lifting weights almost every other day since April 23 of this year using the exercises from a Prevention Magazine video. A few days ago I also did most of the "SWAT Workout Extreme Weight Loss & Fat Burning" DVD from the library. The next day I was SORE! Today I'm still sore, but I didn't want to skip it altogether, so after lifting my weights, I did just the warmup and the cool down from SWAT. That's probably what I should have done on Wednesday. (As they say, "Hindsight is 20/20" --and apparently doesn't have aching muscles!) Maybe it's just my imagination, but doesn't it look like he's laughing at me?

I'm excited to be here. I've already read some great articles and inspiring stories. There are lots of exercise videos on the site that I'd like to try.

I love language and writing, but I've never kept a blog before, so that is a bonus. I'll be writing about my interests--not just my fitness goals.
