Vacation, hiking, and family

Well, vacation from work is over, although my son is still home on leave until the 9th. It's so great to have him home! He is the hugger of the family and I sure miss them when he is gone. At least he is currently stationed somewhere safe and I am not worried 24/7. We have been through that before and I'm sure will experience it again, but for now, he's safe.
My eating habits have been pretty atrocious while the last couple of weeks. I just need to get through tomorrow and will be able to get into a better routine again. I haven't done much formal exercise but last week we camped to Truman Lake so I got some hiking in. When I got home I was pleased to see that the Biggest Loser challenge this week is to take a hike! I went out early on Sunday morning and it was the perfect time to see some wildlife. I saw two fat ground hogs, 1 raccoon, countless geese, several large blue herons and many different birds. I love going early in the morning when it's quiet and the boats aren't out on the lake yet. My whole family was there except my grandaughter in England. We missed having her with us. The little boys came for their first camping trip and boy did they have fun. I think they both had sticks in their hands the whole time. The little one made rock soup for us, yum!
It has been a fun couple of weeks with too much eating (and drinking!) and not enough exercise! I will try to play a game at the family picnic tomorrow, but sitting under that shade tree is my favorite pastime on July 4th!!
