I KNOW I SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE IT!!!

Weigh once a week on the same day! Don't get discouraged! Don't be impatient! Well, I did weigh last Friday, and I was up 6/10ths of a lb. (Damned digital scale!!!) I know, I know....DON'T GET DISCOURAGED, IT IS PROBABLY WATER!

Well, this morning before hopping into a "cold shower"....(no hot water, because the hot water tank started leaking night before last) I hopped on to the scale. I was down 6/10ths of a lb and actually down from previous week by 1 lb 2/10ths of a lb. I know I should not have done it, but I weighed and recorded it, just for my own sanity.

I am trying!

I know that everyone has a plateau, but "this early in the game"? I look at the graphic line where "I should be" and the little bubbles where I am, and since I am a results oriented person, I think....Geeeeezzzz! Failure??!!

Okay, Failure is Not an Option!! I know, I know, don't remind me!

This whole journey has been a "reality journey" for me. No more thinking I can take off 2 lbs a week....I have to record everything I eat, and really examine what it takes to maintain the body. Who's kidding whom, here?

I know I should not have done it, but I did and I am glad...................

    do not let it over take you!!!!!!!!!! i know you know that, i track everything BEFORE i eat it, that helps me. also i added protein to my breakfast, just like string cheese, it also helped me get over the hill. have a great week. ida

    Hang in there, Val! You are doing a super job. You are more aware and have made a lot of healthy changes in your lifestyle. Aren't those digital scales the pits! Mine would always weigh different depending on where I placed it on the floor. Finally, broke down and bought the "old-fashion" kind and like it much better. Seems we have to work harder now to rid our bodies of the extra weight than in previous years. We will win this battle together! New Month, New Day, New You!

    Val, it is your body on strike, mine has done it several times. I can usually judge it is going to do it when my rings are tight. Take the reading that you want and keep on going girl.

    Hey whatever tricks work. And yes plateaus can happen anytime in the journey. I think it's your bodies way of seeing just how serious you are this time. Are you really going to keep taking care of it? Or are you just going to revert back to the old ways? If you're not going to live this way, why should it bother losing any more?

    Keep up the great effort. You can do this!

    The only way you can fail, Val, is if you stop trying. And there truly isn't a timeline involved because this is a lifestyle now, right?

    The only question I have for you is: do you measure your portions? Sometimes we get to guestimating and our guestimates are off a bit. And that little bit, over time, can add up and sabotage all our best efforts.

    Geeze, a digital scale would drive me bonkers!! I just use the old fashioned kind that I have to adjust everytime I weight because it never seems to stay on zero!!

    Yes, I weigh EVERY day at the SAME time. I do it for my sanity, and it keeps me honest. As for the plateau, it seems like once the plateau is over you make a huge drop, so look for that to happen!

    Hmmm yup! i know all about hitting that stupid plateau early in the game! Seems like I kept gaining and losing the same 4 pounds for months!

    That's so funny - just yesterday I was complaining about hitting that stupid plateau so early in the game. I've been good about tracking food and eating the right stuff, I've been exercising, and...brick wall! I got over it without running to Dairy Queen, though. Today I'm back on track mentally, so I'm hoping the scale will follow my lead here! Good luck with yours, too! emoticon emoticon
