Our town put on a fireworks display last night. It was really nice but, nothing spectacular. Everyone around me was oooing and aaahing and I didn't see why. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed being there. I just didn't feel that heart pounding excitement I felt when I was a kid. The thrill was missing and I want it back.

I also went to a fireworks display last night, and although I enjoyed being there, I didn't feel the heart pounding excitement either. What DID keep my attention was watching my 3 year old great niece, who definitely had the heart pounding excitement, and a huge smile the entire time. Her little brother slept thru the entire!

I went to a local fireworks last night and I understand what you are saying. I somehow lost the excitement of my youth, but alas, I enjoyed the joy it gave my family and those around me. I had more joy in the gathering and watching the children play, the adults just sitting and laughing and the community coming together to experience a small taste of life as it should be. I mean family, friends and enjoying the simple things in life...just slowing down and seeing the world around me.
