P90X +Tri-Training Schedule

I got to go home for a week and spend time with many of my good friends and family. The week before we headed home, my mother came to visit...we had a great time! She had an opportunity to see the end of the year madness firsthand and I'm sure that gave her a totally different perspective.

This week I officially started my training for the Ramblin' Rose (Mini-Triathlon) and attended my first swim clinic yesterday. I've got about 9 weeks until the race...not much time! Yikes!! The great news is that I got moved from the "bubble blowers" to the beginner group! LOL As much as I hate putting my face in the water, I WILL do it and as much as I don't like being out farther than my feet can touch, I'll doggie paddle if I have to. The "bubble blowers" wouldn't let go of the pool edge. We were in 3 1/2 feet of water and many of them were not comfortable enough to use the kickboard across the pool. We all have room for growth. Great bunch of women and fantastic coaches! It's going to be fun!!

I've decided to incorporate P90X since my husband is starting round 2 and it would be nice to have someone to do the program with. I'm excited to see how my body changes in the next 12 weeks. I have a feeling I'm going to really get to know myself through this process. I'll have to push past my fears, train when I don't feel like it, be flexible and press on through it all. I'm excited about this next journey!!


I've worked out my initial "Mini-Tri Training Schedule" and will tweak it as needed. Here it is...

    thanks for sharing your training schedule--i recently completed a triathlon (team, i was the swim leg) at the end of august. it was nice to see how someone else incporporated p90x workouts into preparing for race day.

    LOL! Congratulations on being moved from the bubble blowers. I took swim lessons about five years ago and loved them. Me and a girlfriend were the only ones in the class, so I had a whole lot of personal attention. We'll swap some funny stories about that when you come home.
