Don't be fooled by my Profile Pic...Something was CROPPED out!

Friday, June 19, 2009

I just posted this a comment to someone else's blog entry, and decided to add it as a personal blog. You can only see me from the OUTSIDE-IN and only I (and God) can see me from the INSIDE-OUT. Perspective changes everything, doesn't it? One of the most beautiful attributes any of us has is a sense of humor and calories don't affect it all!

My husband must wonder what the heck he got himself into...I know that after 25 years, many things about my appearance have changed...my body literally looks like a road map from all of the surgeries I've had (c-section, hysterectomy, mastectomy, breast reconstruction...) and then there are the lines...laugh lines, frown lines, worry lines, crinkles and wrinkles. But, inside, I'm still young and vibrant. And INSIDE is where ALL the ACTION is!!! I've been a longtime fan of Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics. (no, I don't sell Mary Kay) ... She always said, "Fake it till you make it", by living life as if your dreams and desires were already a reality. That, in addition to my faith, has been a real boost to my self-esteem and self-image over the years. If you look at my profile pic, you'll see that it is cropped...that's because my reconstructed left boob was falling out of my dress when the picture was taken! Since I have no feeling there, I didn't even realize it. I chose to use that picture because it reminds me of how deceiving outward appearances can be! I'm a fun, vibrant, THIN, and healthy woman inside so don't let the outside fool you...she's just catching up!

Blessings, Penny

Great post! I'll bet (like most of us) you can say where and when the wrinkles appeared and came from. They are part of us, my husband doesn't really see them even if I can.

Keep moving and smiling you are a beautiful person inside and out!

I bet your husband thanks God every day for the beautiful-inside and out, vibrant woman he married. After all you have been through you still have a positive outlook. You are inspiring!

Thank you so much for sharing that... it really made me smile. It's great to remember that a person's inner beauty and strength is really so much more important that what is on the outside. Beautiful post! emoticon
