A couple of deacons and their wives came to visit me yesterday and served me communion. This was the first time I had communion since my surgery. It was very nice to be able to do it. One of the wives brought us a plate of baked chicken and dressing. Not my favorite meal, but my husband loves it he will eat it. They think I am small when I know I am still heavy. This doesn't inspire me, but I am determined to be better.
I made white chocolate chip cookies. My downfall is baking yummy goods. When I am better I know I will do more baking. I am planning on making chicken pot pie this weekend since I am going back to work. This will be a good meal that can be frozen. I know I will be tired on my first day and I will still have to find the strength to make it to the wellness center 3 times a week. I also have to get my daily exercise in.
I am going to have to put a lock on the lid of the cookie jar and just let my husband and the children eat them.
Speaking of the children, they are going to be gone for 4th of July for a wedding then it will be count down for Alaska. They are going in August instead of September so that they can get used to the time difference. Boo-hoo!
I know it will be exciting for them because they will be able to do different things. On the other hand, they were here today because they were bored at home. We won't be that close anymore.
The water company is doing some kind of work on our street. They are going to tear up our driveway among others. I don't know how long it will be messed up or if they will repair after they are finished. They tore up next door so I know we are next.
