Now.....I gotta lose those extra lbs...

Monday, June 15, 2009

As I sit here stunned and in disbelieve, holding a bikini, sun glasses, thongs (shoes not underwear--thank God) a blow up palm tree, I can hardly control the tears.

My youngest son, decided that Mom needed something for a birthday gift (June 18, 1939) for my 70th birthday. In March this year, he gave my DH and me a Cruise to Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya. That event made me think I better take a few lbs off this aging bod. That is when I really got serious about SP. Now, I am seriously in trouble.....

Today, I opened a box, first I pulled out a bikini bathing suit....."FOR ME??" "WHAT!!??" Holy Cow....it's about a size 2 and I would have to add a ZERO to that.

Then, I found a beach bag, sun tan lotion, note pad, a Cross Word Puzzle book, a sand pail and shovel, a picture album.....a CD of Hawaiian music.....and the list goes on..."Okay, there is a message here.....?" I am not the sharpest knife in the knife drawer; but I think my deductive reasoning is okay.....

Then in the box at its bottom, I found the envelope that on its exterior had written, "OPEN LAST"....and I complied with the instructions; when I opened it said (there was a beautifully typed letter) had a description of 7 days and nights in Maui for me and my DH.....and Air lines Reservations....FIRST CLASS....both directions. My DH started taking pictures of me, and I was overwhelmed....I just sat there and cried....and cried....and cried.

Raising 3 children , a couple of Foster Kids, and one foreign exchange student, you never know what effect you have on them growing up. Especially when they complain to you about how badly you are treating them because you make them responsible: "How come we have chores and all our friends don"t have to do chores?!" And, you respond to them by telling them, "You kids picked the wrong parents!"

Maybe I didn't do everything wrong......(Joking)...They are really good kids and I am proud they are mine..... But, I am still crying.....

"Aloha......Hau'oli La Hanau! Happy Birthday, We love you Mom" Brian, Maxwell, Spencer and Tammi........Now.....I gotta lose those extra lbs......

Now you know what kind of job you did raising them! Obviously a son who loves his mom very much and also has a wonderful sense of humor. The box must have been fun to unpack and you and your DH will have a ball (even if you forget the bikini).

What a great gift. Time with your DH and a fun package to open. Looks to me like that tip fits pretty well. I know with this new incentive you'll look great on this trip.

    Have a fun!
