Is it just me?

Or is it really truly hard to meet dietary goals every day? I fall short on the fibre despite eating wholewheat everything, and fruits, and veg... and I only just make the protein.

Tonight I did actually calculate that I could meet my fibre target by eating an apple for desert as well as some yummy hazelnut tea loaf, but i felt nauseated at the thought of eating that much... I did eat the tea loaf slice though...come on, the girl has to have a treat.

Speaking of treats, prawn kebabs might just be my new favourite food, mini calories, maximum satieting effect...

You are NOT alone!!! I don't have a problem with carbs, fat, and protein on most days (while staying within my calorie range), but fibre? Calcium? It's a rare day indeed that I also achieve those goals!! I suppose one can add Metamucil and calcium pills to the diet, but ummm....no thanks!! LOL I've been saying for a couple of weeks that I'm going to do some research into foods that are high in calcium and/or fibre .... maybe I should get off my tushie and do it!

I have difficulty meeting all my goals at the same time - very often if I make the protein and fat I don't make the carb. On the other hand I do try to keep to the bottom of my calorie allowance.

Oh nooo girlfriend, you are *not* alone! The first few times I put in my food, I saw that I was waaaay off the mark! I had a hard time getting enough protein and always over did the fat intake...(And I thought LOTS of olive oil was good for us!) Well, my doctor said I need to eat more protein and I just read an article on SPARK this morning about how protein fills you up and is necessary.

But, often, animal protein anyway, had fat, too! As you mentioned, shrimp is great and I keep hard boiled eggs in the fridge for when I am hungry: only 76 kcal and good protein (very complete, only breastmilk provides more nutrients!) and it is yummy all by itself or jazzed up with whatever you can think up!

As for fiber, I don't know...maybe having a good crunchy apple more would do the trick. Tell you the truth, I didn't look at fiber intake...

    Good luck and have fun!!

I find it hard, some days, to meet my goals. I have no problem eating the 5 fruits/veggies but can fall short on protein. Life happens and if we are really busy with the everyday stuff, I just do the best I can. I dislike eating a late dinner, especially after 8 pm. I track all day and when I get done, I don't want
to eat just to meet a goal. Does this make sense? But I do try.
