Water Exercises and ME

Sunday, June 14, 2009

emoticonWater exercise improves flexibility and range of motion, strengthens and tones muscles without hurting vulnerable joints.
Did you know the water can help you:
Lose weight effectively
Improve balance and agility
Ease arthritis pain
Recover from surgery
Alleviate the symptoms of fibromyalgia, RSD and MS
Strengthen Muscles and Joints
Increase flexibility and strength
WOW! I have heard this before but man I can live to tell it now! I started a new dvd this week...And it's a lot more intense than what I am used to. So on Thursday I was headed back into therapy ready to get in the water when the PT asked "What is your pain level today", which she always asks. Well, I responded with a 7 because I ached so much! Didn't have the pep I usually have going in...I usually walk down the stairs not use the help seat to get in especially since I am tall...But that day I needed help..At the end of the session you get 10 mins in the soothing water with the jets massaging you...Boy, did I feel so SO MUCH better when I left...I am taking a break today because I am beginning to feel better but I don't want to over due or even un-do what she has done for me so far...Fibro has no cure...so I know I have to endure it...And over use injuries are killer! Going into my third week next week!
I believe it's the water that helped me finally get to 25lbs lost....I lost the first about 16 without SP and the rest on here emoticonand all my emoticon's! I thank God for blessing me with all of YOU!

I hope you enjoy this beautiful Sunday

I did water aerobics years ago. Don't go to any pool now, but the water exercises were so great. It's more work than it looks to be at first, but it's also easier exertion than with machines. I have fibro, also, so I really know the value of exercise being strong & gentle at the same time.
