I am adjusting to the 'bargaining with myself' mentality. I understand I can have my cake and eat it...provided I burn it off somehow!
Today I went to Art Basel with the boy and I had planned lunch of sandwiches (salmon, quite small), Finn Crisps with a small wedge of cheese, raisins and fresh apples, washed down with copious amounts of water to counter the high temperatures. For the boy I had also packed 1 paket of crisps and a chocolate bar.
But I had already told myself that if there was something calling me, well, I would consider it. But nothing did. In fact I think living in Switzerland were take-away food consists mostly of a grilled Bratwurst with bread is a blessing: a warm stodgy sausage does not appeal in warm weather!
The boy ate the crisps but not the chocolate (he probably forgot!) but I found myself not even fancying one crisp, and more surprisingly, because of the heat, all I could think of when we got home was ...MORE DRINK!
Ok, I DID have a water lolly to cool me down, having already decided on poached chicken for dinner, and I decided to bake a hazelnut tea loaf to be sliced and frozen so I can have a reasonable sweet treat if I want it.
After all was said and done, and adding half a juicy mango to the lot, I prepared to face the SP verdict...and I am under my calorie allowance for the day.
Now, don't get me wrong...I normally aim to be in range for all the categories, so I know my day was balanced and weight-loss inducing...BUT yesterday there was a lapse in the shape of strawberry sweets, and also chocolate covered raisins.
I blame mother Nature...
So I think that'll offset nicely the excess from yesterday.
But yeay for having a good day (despite a complete lack of Brad Pitt who apprently visited yesterday) and NOT feel deprived.
Now to find the motivation to start doing crunches to firm up my round tummy...
