Giving Back

Thursday, June 11, 2009

I visited with a good friend the other day who happens to work for a local charity, and she was bemoaning the lack of donations to that charity. With so many people cutting back and saving money for their own needs, many worthwhile causes face double pressure-- increased need from struggling families, and a lack of donations to cover those needs.

This article highlights a few ways to donate to a charity without spending any money, and it's worth a read. Plus, it ties right into spark! Donate those outgrown clothes or join a charity walk to help yourself, and those who may be less fortunate!

Yes donations are down, charities and community food banks are really hurting with more customers. Good blog!

Great idea! We are doing a food drive at work. This could also tie into spark :)

I cleaned out my pantry of all the foods that I should be skipping, and brought those in to donate. I also found a whole trashcan full of food that was expired. While I couldn't donate that- it was great to get it out of my pantry!
