Help Needed with Leftovers!

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

On Saturday, I had a high school graduation party for my daughter. It was a potluck party, and one person brought teryaki chicken in a crock pot. It was very salty, very sweet, but extremely tender. There was a LOT left over! I hate to throw away food, so I stripped all the good meat off the bones and got rid of the skin and sauce.

My issue is, I want to make leftovers from this chicken that will remove the salty and overly sweet flavor. My instinct is to put it in the wok and stir-fry it with lots of veggies and brown rice, but I'm not sure it will work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can do so much with Left Overs.

You can make Chicken Alfredo, Chicken Enchiladas, BBQ Chicken, Chicken Pot Pie, Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken Stir Fry, Chicken Salad just to name a few.

Hope those ideas work, if out then give me a Jingle & I can come up with some more ideas. :-)

    Hello Wendy,

I don't have much for a suggestion other than to maybe make some soup with it. My point being potatoes usually NEED lots of salt, so don't salt the soup just put in the potatoes and hope they "absorb" a lot of that extra salt of your chicken dish.
That is about my only idea thus far.
Hope it works or somebody else has an even better idea.

    Hope you are doing well.
    Take care
