Celebration For Grandson

Saturday, June 06, 2009

Yesterday, my husband and I drove a three hour drive to a dinner and celebration of my grandson & his financee's engagement party. The day he granduated from medical school, he proposed to his girlfriend. She didn't have a clue that he had planned this. She had been traveling out of town in regards to her job. He met her at the airport in a limosine and proposed to her. Of course, she accepted.

All the families are very happy about this engagement. Both my grandson and his fiancee are christians, well educated and good looking.

Although I am really happy for my grandson, I am used to seeing him often. He is now a doctor who specialised in internal medicine and emergency medicine. He is moving to Brooklyn, NY next Wednesday. He will be there five years. We won't get to see him again until fall. I will really miss him seeing him.

A wedding is planned for October 2009.

I understand completely...only it is with my son instead of grandson. He's dream upon finishing medical school was to come back to our hometown and begin his practice. He is a cardiologist now and 2 years ago married someone who does not want to live in a small town. He is in Ohio and that is 5 1/2 hours from us. We see him maybe 4 or 5 times a year. New baby will be here in November (my first grandchild) and we will probably see him even less.

I know that you are one proud Grandma. Tell him he will need to live near you so that you can have free medical service since you changed his diapers. lol Yes, it is hard when they move far away, especially when you are used to them being around often. Enjoy what time you have with him, and remember, great grands are fun to spoil too. (((HUGS))) Linda Kay p.s. Both are good looking.

WOW! I know your heart is so full of pride! It is something so much more special when we get to see our grandchildren become adults! Sure it is great with our children but it seems now at this time we have matured more and slowed down enough to really appreciate everything God has provided for us!

You are 100% correct He is a very Handsome Young Man! I know you will enjoy your visit this week!

A very happy event. Our nephew graduated from medical school last year. Those young people work so hard for that. Luckily, for us, a new generation of doctors.
