"Nothing tastes as good as thin feels....and other Phrases and Quotes"

Tuesday, June 02, 2009

Why is it so difficult for me to recall that first phrase and have it in my mind? Nothing tastes as good as thin feels...........pretty simple stuff really.

My grandmother used to say "the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions". I think she may have been talking about me, even at a young age.

I start out all fired up, enthusiastic, and then....b o r i n g!

I guess "I want my cake and eat it too!"

But, "there ain't no free lunch". Everything comes at a price.

Alan Bennett:
Life is rather like a tin of sardines - we're all of us looking for the key.

I guess that I am still searching for "my key", and that key maybe in others. I have always done best working with others. "No Man is an Island", and that sums me up. I do not like being alone, I guess I have a latent "Social Worker" in me...and I need to be there helping people, and maybe even myself.

Today, I need to work on remembering those phrases....then again, I will probably have to remind myself tomorrow.....AGAIN

Hi, Val! I've heard that some people post these types of quotes in various places in their home where they'll see them and be reminded to stay on track frequently.

One saying that I have to keep in my head is, "You bite it, you write it!" Sometimes I'm tempted to not include those little nibbles that really shouldn't count for anything (at least, not in my head), but actually do. It's amazing how fast those calories can add up!

Entertaining blog! Actually, I have been reminded lately, to my surprise, how good healthy food tastes! Because warmer weather is (mostly) here, I have started eating my childhood favorites - fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. I love any fresh tomatoes, as long as they have flavor. Grape tomatoes are most consistent right now. I can eat them alone (like candy to me) or cut them up and toss them with balsamic vinegar, mozzarella and basil, or chop them in the processor with other good stuff for salsa. Cucumbers with vinegar and onions were always in our fridge all summer when I was a kid, and it's time to break that out again. I am experimenting with variations, though, as my daughter doesn't like vinegar and onions. Anyway, in my case, thin(ner) does taste good, and for now, even chocolate isn't my top craving!
