OK. This is the hard part for me. I've been doing very well on my weight loss and fitness goals for over 7 months. Now the weather is getting hotter and I've been in a slump. When I ran about a week ago I was so parched and hot that it kind of made me dizzy. I have never tolerated the heat very well. But I have to resist the temptation to tell myself that I can't handle the heat so I need to ease up on the exercising. NO!!!! I need to carry cold water with me. The extra pound or so that the water will add is NOT an excuse not to do it. It's better than the extra 10 lbs. or so that I'll be carrying if I DON'T do it! Or maybe I need to take advantage of my church keys and run inside the building during the week when nobody is there. One way or another, I can't lose momentum.

Does anyone else have the "heat challenge"? If so, WE CAN OVERCOME! Do not let something as simple as the weather sabbotage your goals and self-esteem. Most of us have survived heartache, menstrual cramps, childbirth, and PMS!! We're TOUGH! Are we going to let a little heat or busy summer activities keep us from being gorgeous, sexy, energetic, physically fit women? NO!!!!! Girls RULE!

If you've been in a slump like me, start with 10 minutes a day of real exercise. It's GOOD to sweat. We have access to showers. We are not in Oz. We will not melt if we get wet! So let's get out there and WORK. It's easier than having a baby and not nearly as time consuming.

    You could run later in the evening when it isn't so hot. Go out right before dinner or even an hour or so after dinner. Then it has cooled off some.

    I'm in a major slump lately. It isn't because of the heat but I'm not sure what it is. I think I'll have to start going to the gym again. Eli has been asking to go to the daycare there lately so I know he would be happy to go. I just need to do it.

    I am cold challenged so I excused myself from working out outside when it was cold. I live in MI so that gave me an excuse until early May and now it is hot a humid and we are not even in June yet. Whatever you do you should commit to it. If a problem comes up making a plan to solve it it the only solution. Cold water, running indoors sounds great to me. I have not made it outside yet but I do workout inside. When I sop losing weight, or get bored I will move it outside for a change.
