Cardio Today

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Getting back on my cardio today I can tell I took 3 days off from my regular routine. I was able to get it done, however I missed my walk because it has been raining out. Hopefully I can get it in before it gets dark.

I'm worried that I will not make much progress the next week. I not it's not possible to lose 5 pounds every week so I will not set myself up for failure with that thought, but losing at least a pound a week would sure be rewarding.

I must remind myself not to try and over due it, you really can't make up for what you missed and the body does need time to rest, so I guess I'll take my own advice and not be too hard on myself.

Listening to your body is really important, and it sounds like you're really listening to yours. Doing too much all at once can lead to injury and set backs. You have a wonderful positive attitude, and I know that you will reach your goals! Thanks for the encouragement on my page and blog entry. Nice to have found a spark friend who is helping me put it in perspective, I hope I can be as helpful to you on your journey!
I hope you have a wonderful day full of joy and fun! emoticon

I am the same way girl...I think we feel like we should ALWAYS push ourselves to the max, but really, it is good to take a few days off. PS I think the fact that you lost five pounds in one week is AMAZING, even if it never happens again.

It is so easy to he hard on yourself. I am the same way...it goes back to the scale thing..I let it literally make or break my day sometimes. However...you truly are an inspiration because you are working hard to achieve your goal.

I workout to videos...Jillian is a good one...she works you hard and I always feel like I get a great cardio workout. Sometimes I wish she would come to my apartment and make me work out HAHA she is a little scary but effective :) I mostly workout to videos when it is too hot or too cold and rainy. Pretty soon it will be too hot here. I much prefer to be outdoors when at all possible.

Take care and I hope the rest of your week is going well for you! emoticon

I hear ya...when I get off routine, I can totally tell the difference!
It's pretty rainy here (it always is in the spring-time)...I've been trying to build up my cardio DVD's for when it's crappy out...I SPLURGED today and bought myself the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred video...and I went to Dick's Sporting Goods store and bought myself a set of weights...3, 5, and 8 pound hand weights...although what I really wanted was 5, 8, and 10 pound weights...they didn't have any sets of those and to buy them seperately would be crazy-expensive...
    Anyway...what was I saying?? LOL...I had a TOTAL Blonde-moment there!!! heehee
Oh ya...the cardio DVD's!! I am finding them to be a good alternative to going for walks when it's icky out! But I find that I need to mix it up some and not use the same one each day, that way I don't get bored with it...
    :)
I hope you're having a GREAT week so far!

What I like to do is walk in place in the house when it is raining or just grabbing a raincoat and go walk anyway. Which ever is you preference!!!! Happy Walking

Definitely don't be too hard on yourself!! A one pound loss would be great. You're right you can't loose 5 lbs every week. Just think of your 5 lbs as a great kick start. I hope the rain stopped so you could get your walk in. emoticon
