Starting Over...

Monday, May 25, 2009

Today is the day I start over. I just read the blog about Dr. Birdie Vamedore who lost 140 lbs. Her motivating story along with the fact that my daughter became engaged yesterday and I will be involve with a wedding in about one year, and I don't want to be the fat mother in the pictures, I must do something. The something has to be more and different that what I am doing now. The exercise is not the problem. I dance, lessons, practice and studio parties over 5 hours each week. I've put in some other exercises but obviously I need to stick to schedules. Its the area of food that MUST change. Portions and what I each are the keys that are missing.
So today I start over...I got on the scale, which is something I have been avoiding. I backed my little fairy up on my tracker. I also took meausrements and will adjust my goals to reflect what I need to do. Here I go.....

I believe in you. Just get up and face one day at a time. You may not make good choices every day until your daughter's wedding but you can make them one day or even one meal at a time. emoticon

emoticon on all the positive things going on in your life. One of the things that first got me started last year was the fact that I was going to be a bridesmaid. Keep holding onto how you feel today and that motivation will help carry you through. Good luck and I know you will be successful!

emoticon Today you are a winner, because you are moving forward without regretting the past. You are a beautiful woman and WILL reach your goals for your daughter's wedding. The best part of inspiration is that it is a gift that keeps on giving. Keep us posted. Your EE teammate.

I'm going to be the mother of the bride in the fall of 2010. My daughter-in-law cured me of my fat picture phobia. For her wedding, she encouraged me to get a bridesmaid's dress rather than a mother-of-the-groom dress. There were 4 layers to the skirt. I walked in looking like the reincarnation of Queen Victoria. It was so over the top that I actually had a ball. Never wore anything before that flaunted my size rather than trying to minimize it.
I want to lose weight to have more energy and make it easier to do fun things. It feels a lot better when the motivation is positive rather than based on fear of what the camera will show.

Wasn't the story about Dr. Birdie amazing? She put me in a "losing mood" this morning emoticon . I stopped to visit you in this morning's Spark travels as in the EE huddle, I saw that you were making a fresh start. First, emoticon on your wonderful daughter's engagement! You are already a lovely future mother-of-the-bride, from your pictures, and you and your husband are such an appealing couple! It always helps me to weigh and measure my food...tracking it, too. If I do that consistently, I do well, I've found. I know you'll do just great! Susan
