Dating Life

Friday, May 22, 2009

So for the past week I've been talking to a few new guys just getting to know them better. So far so good and it's mildly fun hehe. I'm so over Patrick (Patrick who?)! His birthday is next Friday and I'm going up to Sacramento to spend a few hours with him for his birthday... I haven't heard from his since Sunday and it's now Friday so I don't know what's up with that. I got a Facebook message from an old ex named Tyler and he told me to text him so I did. Turns out he misses talking to me, isn't over me, and still loves me as a girlfriend. I'm like whoa dude we broke up like a few years ago!!!! We're still friends but the distance is too much. He lives all the way in Slave Lake Alberta CANADA! There's no possible way it could ever work out. But it was rather nice and flattering that he still has those feelings for me.

I kind of agree with Biss_in_time. It's good to have a period where you do not see or interact with them for awhile, even if you want to be friends later. It helps switches gears in our minds, for usually we don't adjust quickly (emotionally or mentally on one level or another) to changes in relationships. Actually we don't adjust all that quickly at all, which is how habits become hard to break! lol.

Maybe this isn't true for you, but I've see some pretty hard situations because two people hung around each other a lot after breaking up and there was a lot of miscommunication, annoyance, and problems with it - compared to giving it a bit of time.

Hope what ever it happens works out though! Keep that positive attutide (something I personally need to work on when it comes to dating)!

I could use a date but I am in Madison WI. Kind of far away. I can still correspond though. Bless you and I hope things go well.

Dating is fun, isn't it?? Haha. I can honestly say I'm SO glad to be done with that part of life...for that reason, and because my honey is the most amazing man on earth! ;)

Aaanyway. I just wanted to say that, once you break up with someone (this Patrick you speak of), you should break it off completely. Hangin' out with that person (especially when he doesnt' even contact you about it for over a week!!) only makes it harder. And, if he's acting that way, he's probably confident that you aren't over him (which, if you totally were, you would blow him off on his birthday!) and thinks he can do whatever, treat you however, and you will always put in effort for him. Well, pardon my french, but SCREW THAT!

You're worth more than that. Spend your weekend hangin' with the guys that treat you right now...why put any effort toward that guy??
