I know what you mean. My hubby has his good and bad moments with supporting me. He really does try at times. But he is so use to getting me something to eat when and what he has. He still does try to do that sometimes, and I tell him no but thanks. He use to make me feel bad when I told him no thanks, but he has gotten alot better with that. Like the other day he wanted to go out for lunch and everything he wanted was something fast was going to be very fattening. Like pizza hut pan pizza, chinese. Sometimes I don't think they realize how hard it is for us.

But now that it has been a little over a month now since I started and turning down the food he would try to give me, he is finally accepting that there is certain things I am nto eating anymore.

It takes time sometimes for the other half to understand what , why, and how hard it is for us to make this life style change. Just keep telling him , thanks but I am trying to stay away from that kind of foods. Good Luck

I hear you loud & clear! While my DH doesn't buy and bring home "junk" food, he's famous for sharing his [unhealthy] meals or snacks with me. I say no (at least 3 times) then he brings me a plate and gives it to me any way! ugh!

What I am learning, however, is that by sticking to my guns he has started to respect my decision and is finally starting to support me - nothing major yet, but we're getting there.

He too would laugh at me when I exercise, but if I laugh along with him (we have to learn to laugh at ourselves) I find it doesn't bother me as much. I know I'm not the most graceful creature when jumping around or trying to balance myself on 1 leg, so I guess I do look silly. Remember, we haven't been doing this for all our lives - it's new.

Just keep doing it until it becomes routine and your family won't even notice you doing it any more (at least I think it's how it will work - I haven't gotten there yet either)

I'm adding you as a friend so I remember to stop by and see how you're doing. Feel free to visit my SparkPage and do the same!
