My first public blog

I've been a member of Sparkpeople for almost a half year now. You wouldn't call me an active member - I don't publish blogs, don't participate in challenges, and you wouldn't see my name on message boards.

But I do find Sparkpeople very helpful and I do believe it helps me to successfully continue my weight loss journey. I subscribed to blog posts of several Spark members and follow their weight loss journey. I read new articles that are sent to my email. When I hit plateau I get motivation from the stories of Spark members who reached their goals.

I joined Sparkpeople at 237 pounds and today I'm at 183.5 pounds. I still have a lot more pounds to lose. But I'm pretty confident that this time I will be able to reach my goal.

    Sounds like you are successful, blog or not. I don't have the wit of most bloggers, but I have found that putting my thoughts in writing helps me to be more committed/accountable. Congrats on your first blog and on your success--54 lbs gone is amazing! Liz, FFFladies

    Hi! had to comment on your 1st public blog because it sounded like I could've been the one writing it. I'm not exactly an "active" member...at least not all the time, I tend to go in streaks, but just because I'm not posting everything doesn't mean I'm not doing it. Somehow, in the back of my mind, it still helps keep me motivated because I feel a responsibility to stay on track because I know all the other sparkpeople are doing it!
    I was 234 when I joined am now 183, so our journeys have been pretty similar so far...I'm confident we'll both reach our goals! Good luck!
