Wow, its been over a week

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Since I logged into Sparkpeople. On Saturday, DH reinjured his knee and ended up in emergency surgery. The good news, the doctor thinks he fixed everything and dh is up and around already. The even better news, I got offered an adjunct position to teach a couple of intro classes this summer. Its only for the summer but I think my AC is going out and this will cover a new air handler and blower. Either that or it will be enough to run away to Aruba by the end of summer when I've gone completely insane!

The problem: Classes start the first week of June. Since it is so close, I don't have time to pick out my own text book to use so I am having to use the one that my friend had adopted. I need to finish up power point slides as well as design tests and quizzes. My head is about to explode. The problem is because I am adjunct, I have to have it all approved by the department head. The good news there... the department head sat on my dissertation committee....

Argh. Too much to do... too little time.

Oh, and the even better than that news... my niece (who is 17 and about to start her senior year in HS) wants to come out here and spend the summer so she can check out schools in "the big city". For a few bucks a week, room and board, she is willing to babysit the heathens, I mean, trolls, wait... I mean the children, yeah, that is them... As long as I take her college hopping and school clothes shopping.

Sorry that your DH was hurt again, but good news the surgery was successful. emoticon on the job. It's good that your niece wants to spend the summer with you. That'll be a big help for you.

You know what is funny? I was just thinking of you today and wondering where you had been. I am so sorry that your DH got injured again. Well, better to have the surgery and be done then to go through what he was going through. emoticon on the teaching job! it sounds great. That is perfect that your neice can come out and watch the children while you are at work. Have a great time prepping for your job, and make sure you check in from time to time. Good luck emoticon Sondra
