Re: Do images of models and celebs make you feel bad about yourself?

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Short answer YES!!! But then I remember that they don't work everyday and have a bunch of "helpers" AKA people to cook clean and watch their kids so they can work out for 8 hours per day and can afford all the expensive "spa" treatments aka Lipo and botox!!!

They kind of motivate me . But i do understand that they do have people who do a lot for them..
They do work a lot of long days on the set of up to 16 hours , BUT once that shoot is over they go back to having lots of time for themselves. something most of us do not have..

Yes, at times, especially though when I was a teenager growing up. Now I am reminded by my daughter who is very involved with photography and editing that a lot of these images are "airbrushed" to death before being released to the gullible public. After I had my daughters and, for many years, I would not buy fashion magazines and keep them in the house. I didn't want them to develop complexes about their bodies any sooner than necessary. The media does that enough to all of us eventually.

I think they make EVERYONE feel bad about themselves! We are subjected to their "perfect" bodies all the time. Just look at Barbie! Now, how many of us can really look like that. Its too bad but the media will never ever change. What are we to do? emoticon
