Over the weekend, I attended my niece's graduation from Baylor University (and yes, I'm a Baylor Bear, too!). I really enjoyed seeing my family, but I especially enjoyed seeing Kelly who gave me the best compliment. She came up behind me and said, "I just can't tell you how good you look!" That's a pretty nice compliment coming from a very fit 22-year-old. It really made my day. I told her that I was doing Crossfit, and her comment was, "no wonder!" Seems she has a number of friends who have started doing these workouts, so she knew they are pretty intense.

Another sign of progress came yesterday when I did my burpees. It was Day 28 of the burpee challenge, and when I went to do my 28 burpees, I decided to see how many I could do with real push-ups (no knees). So I started and before I knew it I was doing my 28th burpee with real push-ups. Wow! I never expected that.

So, when I went for my workout this morning, I decided to do real push-ups in the warm-up. They were hard, but I did them. So, here's the workout we did this morning:
3 rounds with reps 21 - 15 - 9 of:
Box jumps (I did the 12" box)
Kettle Bell swings (35 lb KB)
Sumo Deadlift High Pull (53 lbs)

I knew the weights I picked would be very challenging for me. The 35# on the KB is the prescribed weight for women on this workout. But I really wanted to kick it up a notch, so I went for it. It was hard, but I got through it. My time was 8:35.
