Manipulating Sizes

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

I think I have probably wrote a blog about this before but am not sure so I will "sound off" once again.

You know I have this thing with numbers...."strew numbers" is my feelings and yes, I know how I spelled that word. I hear people say, especially women, that they want to fit into a size....4, 6, 8, whatever and they strive for that number!!! But, that number is not realistic because you see no two manufactures produce a size that is consistent with each other. Don't believe it??? go to a store and try on a size of pants that fits.....now go to at least two other stores and try on the same size......see there....IT IS NOT CONSISTENT!!!

Get past this number "mind game" and go with what feels good whether it be a 2 or 20 "numbered size".

Until we realize that we are manipulated by the "marketing industry" we will fall victim to their efforts and I for one don't plan to play their game any longer.

Blessings for a wonderful day and until you feel GOOD about yourself and LOVE yourself.....YOU CAN NOT expect anyone else to. Chargail

You said it! You don't even have to go into a different store to see the difference..take four pairs of pants into a dressing room, different cut or brand and OOPS...you might not even find one pair that fits properly. And don't get me started on those items made out of this country (nearly everything) as I think they are using size standards from countries where women don't have hips.

Let me share a little funny.....many years ago when my parents were having a moving sale, my dad (who had the same twisted sense of humor I do) was manning the store for a bit when a lady came to him with a complaint. Mom had several nice jackets and coats in a range of sizes since, you guessed it, her size varied with her diets. The woman really liked one particular coat but she said she couldn't possibly buy a sz 24, she had never worn that size and it just couldn't be right because it fit beautifully....so my dad simply grabbed his sharpie and said...."What size do you want it to be?".....at which he quickly changed the number and pocketed the loot!
We women are a piece of work when it comes to that size issue!

Thanks for giving me the chance to think about my folks...you made me smile!
