Staying consistent when things change.....

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

I had diligently been walking every morning at 6:30 am. I had committed to getting out there early every morning as the morning works best for me and my hubby left for work about an hour later. Well at the end of January, my hubby was laid off. I kept my schedule for some time after that. I later realized somewhere along the way, I got off track. I didn't have to walk any longer at 6:30 am and I got lost in have too much freedom! I stopped being consistent. I was really surprised this occured. Eventually I shared this with my friend and healthy living buddy while we were walking. I realized while talking to her that I still needed to have a goal, a time frame. I shared with her at the time that I needed to get out there and walk before 9 am. Amazing things have happened since then. I've been walking again every morning before 9 am! Once or twice I've looked at the clock and it's been 8:30 am and I tell myself I've got to get moving and offI go.....

Yes you are so right about being consistent. I was walking faithfully for a few weeks and then the weather, my allergies, the grand kids, anything and everything got in the way of my walking. As I was driving my son to work this morning I realized I'm out of excuses, the weather is staying nice now and my allergies are better. Thank you for your blog. I will be getting a walk in today and tom morning before I come back home from taking my son to work I'm stopping at the park and walking. emoticon emoticon
