Biking

This is a map of the Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail in Northern Virginia, not too far from where I live. It's 45 miles in length, and goes from an elevation of about 200 ft to about 570 feet. It used to be a railroad track that was converted into a multiuse trail. Yesterday, a friend and I biked the distance shown in red, which is about 30 miles (round trip). Most of the change in elevation is in the section we biked. We add about 2 miles each time we go out, so in about a month's time, we should be able (time permitting!) to get to Purcellville, the end of the trail. From there, it's another 12 miles by road to Harper's Ferry. We want to get there on our bikes before the end of the summer, so we are looking for the best route to get there. We would both like to stay off of roads.
Between that, and a 30 minute run on Saturday, it was a busy weekend.
I hope everyone had a good Mother's Day.
