Time to add a line or two

It must be time to write a line
I have be so neglectful
I've started back to take a look
I hope to be respectful
This week I went to Curves to learn
About their newer diet push
Did my workout and stayed to watch
While sitting on my tush
I had heard great things about the plan
How simple it was to follow,
What was it that I didn't get?
I feel my skull is getting hallow.
I don't understand at all
This thing about the exchanges
I can't seem to do the math
Or see how it all arranges
You start by picking out a plan
Lower carb/higher protein is suggested
Or if you think it fits you best
Lower protein/higher carbs can be ingested.
Then you look up in their book
The meals and snacks that you might eat
Here is where I lost interest
Seemed the instructions were incomplete.
If I didn't like the offerings
I could exchange another food
By going down the list of things,
Well, some things did look good.
However, I came to lists that
I wasn't sure just where they fit,
It just seem so unbalanced
And so little fiber would I get.
Well, another thing about the plan
I did think had good merit
Was that you do it in three phases
I'll see if I can share it.
Week one you eat twelve hundred (1200) calories
That is the first phase
Phase 2, three weeks to fifteen hundred (1500)
The calories you raise.
Phase 3, two thousand plus (2000+)you move
Into a recovery, if you will
To help your metabolism
Get a boost so your goals you can fulfill.
That takes up to four (4) weeks
And then you return
To Phases 1 and 2
So more calories you will burn
Perhaps I won't end up like I have
In the plateau mode again
And lose my way and start to gain
That's not good Karma or good Zen.
I think I will use it for a guide
To get me back on track.
I'll use the basic principles,
It's time now for my snack!

    Good synopsis of the program. I happen to like SP plan. Either choose the meal plan tailored to your likes and a safe weight loss or plan your own meals (my choice) and watch the balance. I loved it when on my fitness page SP told me I needed to increase my calorie input because I was exercising more than I had originally stated.
    Also - SP is a life style - not a diet. I'm afraid with the 1200, 1500, 2000 cycle you might just get dizzy. emoticon
    I'm beginning to get a sense of just how much food is in a serving and learning how to balance my nutrients.
