Where in the world is Crissy?

Thursday, May 07, 2009

Now that Bloomsday is over I have been thinking about my next goal. What should I train for? What next race can I do. Naturally, I want to do Bloomsday again next year and shave 30 or minutes off my time. But that is just under a year away and I need to have something to do now. In going through my old emails from SP I found a link about tracking how far you have gone. My mother is currently "walking" from the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthridge MO and is hoping to be home before Christmas. I decided that I am going to elliptical to all 50 states and then take on the world. My elliptical machine tells me how "far" I have gone and I will start tracking where that takes me in real life. There is no cheating. This will be a mile for mile trek. And yes, that means I will also be elliptical swimming as I travel to places like Hawaii and some of the other countries I plan to visit. I have promised myself that I will track the miles each day then go online and learn something new about where ever I ended up.

So where to first? I live in Washington State and I think Alaska sounds like a great place to head. I am thinking Denali National Park and Preserve is where I want to go to first. Denali National Park is approximately 12 miles south of Healy AK and 2449.58 from my house (that is to Healy)....soooo...tonight the journey starts! Denali Park here I come!

Last year you would've even attempted the Bloomsday race and now look out out the world is your race. Good job.

I love the idea!! I have just today re-committed to exercise and I do believe that I will use your idea. I think I'll take my "walk" right now and decide after that 'where' I'm going to go. (I have this compulsion about research and I know I'd stay on the computer all day trying to figure out where to go!)

Thanks so much for the exciting idea!! Keep us posted!
