I drink the water then I reach for my Extra Sugar Free Gum- I like the Polar Ice flavor - it's very sweet. I did chew about four pieces in a row yesterday - the battle with hunger - hunger nearly one, but I made it. I also walk around and bug my co-workers. Gets my mind off of being hungry. I like the advice the others have given too, I hope you can take some of it or mix it up and find what works for you.

Kudos on not going over your calories, and I too hope the scales are kind to you - I still get a little hung up on that myself so I do understand. If they aren't though, make sure you tune in to how you're feeling and remember all of your little victories during these hungry days - you have to be proud of that!

Sugarfree jello by the gallon....that's what I do sometimes when I MUST have a lot of something...I get Cool Whip Lite and throw some fruit into it,then I actually feel like I'm eating "good" stuff....We're talking "BIG " bowl!!! and I drink 2 glasses of water with the big bowl of jello....I get sooooo tired of feeling starving ALL THE TIME TOO! But I'm toughing it out! For me and my good health! I AM THE BOSS OF MY BODY!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I agree about trying the big glass of water first, then if still hungry try one of the other ladies advice or make sugar-free jello, and eat a serving of that to still the hunger - 10 calories! Or eat celery or carrot sticks. Whatever works best for you.

We sometimes rely to much on the scale and need to take a look at other things - inches, how you feel, how clothes fit....

It is primarily the fat and protein in your meals that helps you stay satisfied longer (at least, that's what I have been reading! lol). Make sure you are getting enough of all of the "little" things, aside from just watching your calories!!

There are two things that I have learned to do to see if I am really hungry or if I just want to eat. The first is that I drink a big glass of water, as sometimes hunger can be a result of a need for liquids. If that takes care of it, then I am all set. The second thing is that I have established a control food. If I am hungry and considering eating again, I ask myself if I would be willing to eat this control food (butternut squash - as I like it, but not really... lol). If I am willing, then I know I am hungry. Sometimes, I still eat that, as I keep some in the freezer just for this reason, but I usually allow myself something else. If I am not willing to eat that, then I know that I am not TRULY hungry and I try to look for the cause - emotional eating, etc.

Just some ideas to help you get through! Good luck - you are doing great so far!!!

I have found that if I eat a lot of carbs I am always hungry. I also eat a couple of cups of vegies most days. I don't know if it will help you but it certainly keeps me full.

I've been having similar problems, except I haven't been goof. I've been indulging in those hunger pangs, and eating anyway, even though I shouldn't. I can't help it, I'm really hungry!!!
