Spark San Diego Convention

Tuesday, May 05, 2009

The convention was exactly what I needed. It was great to have an opportunity to meet with fellow Spark users and staff. We got an opportunity to listen to "SparkGuy", exercise with Coach Nichole and walk or run with other members of the SparkTeam staff. Every team member was awesome and really interested in what we thought of Spark and asked for ideas for improvement.

The SparkTeam is working on several exciting ideas to make our Spark even brighter in the future. We also got to have a quick preview of the Spark book coming out at the end of the year. It sounds like a great motivational tool to share with others.

There was also a panel discussion of 5 successful Spark members that was encouraging. Each of these members were very encouraging and helped me to reenergize my Spark.

On a personal note I had never been to San Diego and spent several hours touring the various areas downtown and wandering through the gardens in Balboa park. A year ago I never would of had the energy or stamina for a 6 hour walk like that on one day not to mention the three days of major walking that I did and even enjoyed.

I had some pictures taken at the convention and plan to be able to see an amazing difference by the time a convention is held next year.

I got back from the convention very late on Sunday night and weighed myself Monday morning. I had lost 2 pounds. emoticon It had been 2 months since I last saw a weight loss. My Spark is back!!!!!

Dude -- I have to admit I got a little worn out after the multiple days of walking and running, but yeah -- the before me would NOT have set out to walk around Balboa park all day and then walk downtown to meet with Sparkers in the evening. I would never have headed on this trip without renting a car as the old me FOR SURE. But I really enjoyed myself too!!! :D Make sure you check out the flickr group -- I gotta go add your SparkName to my picture descriptions now that I figured out WHO YOU ARE. ;) hehehee. Congrats on the 2lb drop!!!!! That is AWESOME!!!!

OH MY GOSH! I know exactly how you feel! It's AMAZING, simply amazing how different it feels to be able to walk around. I mean, it seems so simple, but.. Frankly, when my husband and I would go to TARGET and walk for 10 minutes around the store our legs were already sore.

There was part of me that half worried, as we headed out to "find" a restaurant that I'd be too tired, or something. Even after having it demonstrated time and again that I can handle it (and it was no problem at all)... my brain hasn't caught up yet, I think! Is that nutty?

I'm so glad that I got a chance to meet you and we had dinner! I wasn't surprised that you had good taste and ordered the Saag too! LOL!! Okay, maybe I'm a little biased about that. HEhee.

I'm glad your trip home was safe. I hope you take care, and we meet again!

    Hey Chris!
Thanks for the insider view of the convention! I really wish I could have gone - if it would have been closer to where I live, I would have! I was reading another blog yesterday and it said something about you guys getting to try some new bar called "You" or something like that. Did you try it? What did you think? I'm always looking for something good for my "snack" time that is nutritional too. Right now, I'm hooked on Luna bars!
I'm so glad you're re-sparked - so am I! Loving my new workout! Have a great day!

Hey - glad you're back! I'm glad you had a good time. I'm glad to see that there were only five that had success stories. If there were more, then it might have been not a good motivation for some. Glad you enjoyed the scenery and your walk, as well. Will you be posting some of those pics for us to see? emoticon
