So, on May 30, I'm going to Florida for my holiday! (Again. I went twice last year! But it's alright; one of my best friends lives in Florida, so that makes it a little easier. AND SHE IS ALSO THE REASON THAT I ACTUALLY GO TO FLORIDA INSTEAD OF ELSEWHERE.)
Now, there's one thing about me, as an eater, that I know. I am very much a fan of American food. I love the portion sizes, I love that you can take food home if you don't eat it, I love the variety, the flavour, the texture, THE CHICKEN WINGS, and the Applebee's Maple Butter Blondie ( www.thedailyplate.com/nu
) - now, if you look at the calorie content of that, it would probably make you pee your pants a little. THAT IS A SCARY AMOUNT OF CALORIES AND SUGAR AND FAT and it is totally worth it.
But I'm going to have to make sure I pay attention to what I'm eating when I go over this time. Last year, I put on 8lbs the first time I went (which, admittedly, was for Cola's birthday, and so there was Publix canoli cream cake involved. And lots of pizza.) and managed only 3lbs the second time (when my late birthday was celebrated, as was Jim's birthday and Father's day and. Just. Oy.) because I. Love. The. Food.
I love food! I've always loved food. I love sweet things. I love savoury things. I LOVE CREAMY THINGS.
And so I'm going to have to be careful this time when I go over.
(Don't get me wrong, there's no way I'm going to attempt to eat healthy while I'm there. I LIVE IN IRELAND. The food here is bland, for the most part, when you eat out or when you buy stuff from the supermarket. I like being able to have a decent choice of food.
Especially at Ruby Tuesday's. Mmmmmmmmm.)
ANYWAY, I can't wait to go over. :) I miss Cola and her family, I miss the food, I MISS BOFLAGENHAGEN. */in joke*
Haha. Less than a month to go now! *is excited liek wo*
