Is milk bad for you???

I met with my nutritionist last monday, I hired one to help me with meal ideas and meet with her once a month. We were chatting about the foods I eat and was looking at my food diary. She mentioned that 3 servings of milk products a day probably was not the best choice. She said that we are the only mammal on earth that drinks milk after we are 1 year of age. ...she recommended "vegetable " dairy. What? How is it still dairy?
We chatted about how 3 of my friends in the past year were diagnosed with breast cancer and how I felt impotent because they all live in Texas and I could not help them living so far away. She said, " do you think milk might have given them cancer?" An interesting comment but she continued. " Milk comes from dairy farms that are trying to make a profit....they over milk cows and use metal machines. They over milking causes problems to the cows utters. The utters get infected but they still milk them on antibiotics and infection gets into the supply." By the time she got this far I had to stop her because by now I was a bit nauseated. I guess she had been reading a book the past weekend and ....eeewww.
Plant based dairy...soy milk, rice milk, almond milk all contain isoflavinoids of one kind or another. My daughter drank soy milk up until last year and then enjoyed the taste of skim milk. When visiting a friend she was served 2%milk .She looked at me and said, " Mommy, Ms Jeanine's milk tastes like cream.
Oh well, I guess the dairy issue is an age old issues...difference of opinion and belief system like being a vegetarian for the health benefit or for believing in animal rights. I am far from a vegetarian although I rarely eat red meat but eat a lot of chicken, fish, eggs and dairy. I do know that everyone must make choices and there is always someone out there who will tell me about the plight of chickens, or how we get eggs from egg farms; but I am going to try to drink more soy milk. I always liked it but have become increasingly aware of the fact that my daughter complains of her"tummy hurting" after she eats cereal with milk...so this may have been the push I needed...all I know is that I not longer look at milk the same way.
