A Cultural Dinner

Last night we hosted a group of 6 teens with their parents for a Malawian experience. We cleared out a back bedroom completely...and that became our hut. There is a more detailed play-by-play on our blog:

I started wondering how nutritionally sound this food is. Nsima is boiled corn it is a carbohydrate. The beans are great with fiber and protein. Greens are cooked with tomato and onion and a touch of you have a little fat and some green vegetable. Lastly is the tomato ndiwo (Like a gravy)...nothing added, just tomatoes and onions. Good for you! So, it seems fairly balanced!! Then we added in some fruits later: pineapple, mango and banana. YUMMY!

Those who prayed for me and this big night I've been preparing for a while...thank you! It went so well, and was so fun that we are thinking about opening our home up and inviting anyone interested to join us. We may end up doing several of these!! So...keep praying!
