April has been a fantastic month ... so far!!!

I began the month of April with a few goals....
1. First 5k of the year scheduled for April 19th. Run it without walking regardless of time.
2. See that darn scale say something that starts with a 1 instead of a 2.
3. Run 40 miles this month.
So here is where I stand so far this month. On Sunday (the 19th) I weighed 198.5 pounds. I ran my first 5k of the year with a finish time of 32:49... over two and a half minutes faster than my best time last year. Upon completing the 5k I had run 40.8 miles in the month of April. Phew...... to think that there are 11 days left in the month at that point!
During the 5k I had to walk a couple of times...but I didn't walk longer than 30 seconds each time, just long enough to catch my breath. I was disappointed that I had to walk, but some of the hills were long (not steep, just long). I was familiar with most of the route and run it regularly which was a lot of fun. My disappointment quickly faded when I realized how much better I had done than last years times....and I had run an average pace of about 10.5 min/mile. They haven't posted the official times on the website yet, so I am using my stop watch time, but it should be pretty accurate.
My girlfriend Amanda has challenged me to a new goal for the week, since we have both met the 40 miles goal..... On to 15 miles logged this week! I am going to be busy.
Oh and my hubby ordered me a Garmin Forerunner 305, so now I even have a new tool (toy) to use to track my miles and my pace! It has been a great month!
Next scheduled 5k is May 2nd!
