No more binge Sundays.

I woke up this morning hating myself for eating non-stop yesterday. All through the week I think about the things I will get to eat on Sunday and then I can't stop eating. I just can't do this anymore. It doesn't make sense to work so hard for 6 days and then to just blow everything in one day. If I am to make this a lifestyle change, then I can't binge on Sundays. It just doesn't make any sense. From now on, I will let myself have a treat for breakfast and then get back on track for the rest of the day. Now that the weather is getting better, I will walk to get that treat and that will make me feel better.

    Terri, just put it behind you. I know that some diets say that one day a week you can eat whatever you want. And to be honest, I'm not one much for deprivation - don't think that it works in the long haul.

    Somehow, we have to find a happy balance. Figuring out what works best. Be strict most of the time with free days, versus being moderate in our eating but stick to it carefully. You might try allowing yourself a couple of "treats" - with a specific number of maximum calories - for a whole week. I remember one diet book I read suggested 10% of your calories could be anything you wanted. Another idea, also from a book, is a number of meals during the week that were "free".

    Whatever, hang in there. YOu are doing fine.

    Yeah, you messed up on Sunday, but what about all the great things you do the other 6 days of the week?

    Try to focus on those positive things you've already accomplished and maybe that will give you the strength you need to not go quite so wild. (Notice I didn't say you had to be perfect).

    I know what you mean. Weekends are so much more tough than weekdays. The entire family is here, usually company drops in for some weird reason. And company means food, for us at least! Try and be kind to yourself, you have a great idea in walking off a morning treat. Good luck to you in reaching your goals. emoticon

    I can so relate to your feelings. I know you might feel very frustrated but give yourself credit for the six days you do well. I am in the same boat as you but I can only do well Monday through Friday, then on the weekends I am so out of control. I am making the pact if i do (have to) stray on the weekends it will only be one day. Once I get that down then I am hoping the whole weekend wont be too far behind. just wanted to let you know you are not alone with the weekend setbacks. Good luck to you in getting this under control. The treat as a breakfast and walking it off sounds like a great idea.
