My scales refuse to budge

Actually they have not screamed lately when I step on them but they refuse to move downward. Very frustrating especially on those days where I am feeling very hungry because I am staying on the program. I usually snack at mid-morning and mid-afternoon on low cal or low fat items so my total calories remain within the range allowed by the nutrition tracker (calculated using my exercise program). I exceeded the range 1 day out of 7 but my eating for the week averaged well within the range.

I increased my exercise which should have taken care of any extra calories for that one day. On Mon, Wed and Fri, I worked out for an hour. On Tue and Thur, I did 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes strength training.

Still there was no move on the weight during the last week or even two weeks.
I am trying very hard to stay positive and realize that these things take time but I am one of those people who need to understand the WHYS. So does anyone have any ideas?

Do I need to stay at the low end of the calorie range or cut carbs?

    please remember that you are probably building muscle and that weighs more than fat. after your body stabilizes you will start to lose. also i found out that i had a lot of hidden calories, coffee mate, juices, etc. sometimes you eat to little and your body stores calories. i was working out every day and my body was not resting so now i do every other day with every day walking for a half of hour or more and low and behold 3 pounds fell to the way side.i put skim milk in my coffee better for you and if i want juice i half it with water. and when i work out hard i make sure i only drink 8 ounces of milk or soy milk not extra food and i do better.i hope this helps don't give up you are your way to a new healthier you. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Don't get to upset about it, I think we are nearly all in the same boat. I personally think it has to do with age and metabolism, like we don't have any at our age!!! my doctor told me a couple of weeks ago that my metabolism is where I left it when I was 27 years old!!! Just keep at it, you are on the right path for a healthy lifestyle and your heart will really be happy and one day thank you for all the work you are doing. Keep on going and remember baby steps, baby steps, you also may find that your clothes will fit better. Lynne
