Out of shape personal trainers??

Thursday, April 16, 2009

Last night at the gym, I noticed that a few of the personal trainers are out of shape...I'm not talking overweight (although some could stand to lose some weight) but definitely not "in shape" was moreso the men that it was the women...and I started thinking "Would I want someone training me when they need to be next to me working out?"...Probably not...well actually I wouldn't...there is no "probably" to it...

I could be being "picky" or something but if I am going to spend my money on a personal trainer, I would want one that looks like they could run a few laps without being out of that too much to ask? I wouldn't think so...

I'm not expecting perfection but isn't there some sort of "standard" they have to meet physically? Should there be one? Seriously a couple of them looked like they had just rolled off the couch and put on a "personal trainer" tag...ok..that was my rant abt the gym!!

I will be there tonight on the elliptical..trying to make sure TOM didn't do too much damage this week...oh TOM, we worry when you don't show up but can't wait for your arse to leave once you do arrive!!!! emoticon

You are 100% right. Some people are good at talking the talk but not walking the walk. Sometimes that pisses me off about Tae-Bo. He will do the exercise for a minute then want to explain? What is there to explain while we are exercising. If you want to explain then we should all stop. Maybe then he won't ask for additional reps. As a personal trainer your body is your sales rep. It will not only help you keep the customers you have but also draw others in. They need to think about that.

LOL I feel the same way that you do. If I'm paying my hard earned money to someone to train me then they should at least look the part. My grandson's step grandfather is a personal trainer and there is no way he could train me looking the way he does. (big gut, untoned all over). Ok enough said. Good Luck with your weigh in.
